Safe to use BT090 up to 220 km/h?

Post by Caakman400 »

My (derestricted) Kwak400 tops out somewhere around 220 km/h, at least theoretically, as my speedo only reads up to 180 and the needle just keeps on going  . Thinking about fitting a pair of BT090's but noticed the speed rating is only 210 km/h. I'm sure the manufacturer's rating is on the safe side, so hoping 220 won't be a problem. Anyone maxxed out their 090's and lived to tell the tale?
:smt059

Actually, the last time I did 220km/h the regulator overcharged and blew the battery - very smelly and very annoying, as I broke down in the blxxdy mountains :smt010 !

Yep, i got 090's on my 400 and took the bike upto an indicated 143mph. which is probably really about 130/135mph Felt steady as anything to me. Cant reccomend fitting them and you doing that tho for obvious reasons.

Good to hear. Time to run my 090's in sometime next week :smt003 I've heard a lot of good things about these tyres - am really looking forward to getting them on. Sticky heaven here I come, although the knee-down season tis almost over :smt010

Anyway, if I crash and burn - it's all....my fault :smt002

Yeah they are a good tyre, only done 250 miles on mine as the ZXR has been laid up for the last 2 years, but i had no problems laying the bike over. Flew over a roundabout at 70 mph the last time i rode it and they didnt feel like they were even close to letting go!
