mix and match?

Tyre question...

My front tyre is knackered, the profiles worn away and its a tad unstable when doing right turns. kinda tips in way to fast then when you go further than the worn part your on a little knife edge of rubber.

Im being a tight basket, so instead of going for a new set of 2ct's, im tempted by a part worn Avon av59 sticky tyre for the front.

The question is how would it interact with the Bridgestone bt020 on the rear...touring tyre, bit of a flat spot in the middle but still little bit of life left in it.

Could you go in real confident of the front tyre, then on exit, the transfer of weight etc be too much for the bt 020 to deal with and0 :smt013 slip crash?

Would this only matter on the ragged edge, which i would only be near due to a mistake?!

has anyone ever rode with 2 drastically different makes and compounds?

I would be grateful for any experience / advice.
