clutches

Post by tobomoto »

a mate is having problems with his clutch. basicaly its as though its still biting when the lever is pulled in. tried adjusting it at the lever but the thread is knackered and the cable isnt even sitting in it properly. weve adjusted it at the engine end to no avail. the cable is only about 2 months old so hasnt had much use due to shitty weather. does it need a new lever assembly or clutch? if it is a clutch, how difficult are they to change and what is needed (plates, springs etc)?
anything is possible with enough time and money. and an open mind...

Sounds like it's not lifting properly

Get the external bits working properly before you go delving into the clutch itself

Knackered threads doesn't sound good

Cable not "sitting in" properly doesn't exactly insipre condifence

If it is plate or springs it's a relatively easy job to replace them
