Clutch plate fitting ....

Is it much of a job to fit new clutch plates??

Soak the new set in oil over night, then out with the old, replace the gasket and in with the new.

Cool just hope they arrive early in the week as I am doing a track day at silverstone on Friday!

if doing your plates, why not do the springs as well? clutch will be like new...

I would I know they are under £20 but I'm proper skint in the last 2 weeks I've had to buy rectifier cam chain adjuster and now clutch plates + it's going to cost me a fair bit at silverstone as weare coming from cornwall.

also check your steels...too many "race starts" and they will have blued and possibly warped...i know its another thing to buy...

Just make sure you remember the order the plates are in. Dont want to be scrambling for the manual when your hands are soaked in engine oil. :pmsl

i take nitrile gloves from work...no oily hands, just put them in the bin and stick on a new pair :D

If i were you, i'll be bringing more than just the nitrile gloves home.

You probably have more access to all the solvents known to man than any of us here. Heh.

i might also have a store of ethanol, trichloroethylene (trike), acetone, isopropanol, distilled water, hexane and acetonitrile as well...
