Bag of spanners!!

Hi, my zxr400 sudden started making a sound like a bag of spanners when change gear and in lower gears or low revs and ticking over. There's no lack of power though or problems getting into gears. Any ideas?

Sounds like it might be the cam chain tensioner has gone mate.

But fixable? Any idea how expensive something like that is to fix, cant last long with it, will go nuts!

from what i know, if it breaks completely then it will fubar the engine. and be very costly

yeah its probably on its way out more than completely gone. They arent much to buy, iirc, just a days work to fix if your doing it yourself. At a mechanics thats not going to be cheap tho just purely becuase of what you will be paying in labour. But yes, fixable
