Help For Race byke Project
Hi, because i cant use the search engine, i dont know why, i want to ask u for help on my ney zxr400, its little small powerless engine and i want to put as much power as he can handle, i am riding my friends z750, and then when i ride the zxr400 ... the power is missing, i like the little byke more than the big one, just want to get more power from the little engine. So if someone can help me with ideas and advices ... my intensions are to put 444 je pistons kit, kent cams, cam gears, stainles steel valves, race full exhaust system, race loud can, ram air, but i dont want to change the front end of my byke, i like it, so here i want to ask what is best for my byke, can i put 4 air filters, 1 on each carb, or its best with 1 filter and ram air .. which brands for exhaust are best for the zxr400, i looked in the internet for akrapovic, but i didnt find race systems for the zxr400 ... i search google every day, read tons of information about the zxr400 but cant find good parts ... i know the akrapovic are best ... but they maybe dont make exhaust systems for the little byke
help me with whatever u can, head porting pics, advices, everything
thanx

you can't use the search feature at the mo cos of this reason http://zxrworld.co.uk/zxr400oc/viewtopi ... =36&t=5753
there are plenty of guys on here that race these bikes so i'm sure someone will advise, or why not speak to AMS motorsport? Jamz will advise u on the 444cc conversion or rather discourage it, thought of a bigger engine transplant altogether?

Re: Help For Race byke Project
i think i missed to say i am from bulgaria
so we dont have other choice than to do the things ourselves, we dont have good tuning shops and good tuners, thats why i joined the forum, in bulgaria ... i cant trust no one to tune my byke ... its better to read how to do it alone ... so i will apreciate all kind of help and advices ... and if the thread is not for here, move it to the right forum ... thanx

ok i think you misunderstood or i didn't make that quite clear, i meant Jamz would discourage you from the 444cc conversion from TTS performance, i meant for advice speak to AMS they are great! and they also offer discounts to fully paid members, i certainly wouldn't advise against them.sorry if that wasn't clear.

first off how much money do you want to spend?!! that list of stuff you have there, even if you plan to do the work yourself, will be into the 2500 area at least(using new stuff).
Yr never going to get mega power from it, its an old 400 at the end of the day. I would get yourself a nice exhaust system, Beet or MHP, any racecan- the pipework is the important bit. Dont use the individual air filters, they dont work on the 400. BB ramairboxes are praised for there quality and fit, the ams one looks nice tho, but not sure if its as good as the bb. My tuner makes them for the H aswell now, and are very nice ( http://www.dynoproracing.com ) . You dont use a filter with the ramair, just a thin gauze to stop the big bits of sheite going in.
then its engine time, and money spending.
is it not possible to sell your bike and get a racebike? i know yr in bulgaria, maybee look into coming over here to buy one, and taking it back with you, might turn out cheaper than doing it yourself to a roadbike??
where do you plan on racing it? or have i got it wrong and you want to tune a roadbike? if so i dont think i would bother in all honesty, its not worth the money...might aswell buy a newer 600 and save your money

Re: Help For Race byke Project
i want to race with the byke on street and on track, in bulgaria we make tours from toun to toun for fun, not to be first, i want to take the best from the 400 engine, weekends i ride z750 2005 its my friends byke, but the small byke is big fun for me, i want to make the byke lighter and put some power on rear wheel, i will buy jet kit, ram air from bb plastics, maye the beet titanium, and port and polish the head, maybe the kent cams with the cam gears, but can u recomend me valves and other parts, maybe i will race with the byke when we have 400gp or some else for 400cc bykes, but for now i will do it for fun, i know it will cost less to get bigger byke, but i like to try
