cam chain guides

Post by kevwye »

Hi guys
i have a l1 with a noisy cam chain i have looked at the tension and all seems ok , upon more inspection it seems like the chain on the exhaust side seems more slak than the intake side is this normal ? Im also not sure on were the chain guide on the exhaust side goes as you can move this up and down
, if i move down as far as it goes the chain is slak ( only on exhaust side ) . If i move half way then the chain is tight as on the inlet

hope this makes sense
thank kev :smt017

Hi mate, in order to position the guide correctly, push the guide down, and the bottom part of it, should sit perfectly at the bottom between the metal casing (where the pulsing plate is.) is the slack always present, or does it change, depending on where the crank is on a turning cycle?
