Gasket/seals
Currently the head of my h2 at a shop having it pressure tested and checking if its warped etc(after the head gasket went) and they told me today that they lost 2 valve cotters?(have no idea what these are) also they asked about valve stem seals.obviously I need a new head gasket and While it's apart ill get some valve seals.wheres the best places to get the parts from? As my local dealers seemed a bit lost.

Re: Gasket/seals
Are your local dealers twats by any chance??? You could suggest they try say, Cradley or Corby Kawasaki, how did they lose these parts??? If it was my bike I'd be worried, very worried. Please tell me they are not Kawasaki dealers.
I never lose parts when working on my bike, never

Does the low seat height reflect the low intelligence? Easier to get an asshole onto.

Re: Gasket/seals
Local dealers always been good but last time I went there and enquired about zxr400 parts he seemed to think a lot of them were obsolete/couldn't get hold of them.was told that the cotters(still have no idea what these are,any help) pinged out across the workshop and they can't find them.

Re: Gasket/seals
the cotters (sometimes called collets) are in 2 identical parts, they look like 2 halfs of a tube that has been cut in half and are quite small, they are whats used to hold the valve and its spring under compression in the cylinder head...not easy to lose if you use the correct tool (valve spring compressor). dont replace one or two of the valve seals, replace all 16.
92049-1308 - valve seal £3.97 each
12011-1052 - cotter £2.41 each
11004-1182 - head gasket £19.09
postage ~£5
available from ANY kawasaki dealer, dont let your current lot stiff you, if you ring cradley and get them to add you to their "400 owners club" you get 10% discount on these prices.
