Need to be quite rough with new down pipes as they are stiff and have not been moved/fitted before

Did you put copper washers/spacers on the cylinder manifolds?

im pretty sure the cylinder heads are the same throughout all models .... the engine had been unchanged apart from gearbox and clutch ... the L9 had "better" internals to give more power increase - someone correct me if i am wrong on that! but im pretty adament its a straight fit.

microfiches show them as being identical...heads, rocker covers...

ah, unless the microfiche doesnt include the L9...it does have a few engine mods from the other L-models...?

again, still good to know that the microfiche here might not be the one for the L9?

You reckon? So have a look at the rear suspension linkages for the L here http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/images/Lseries/lrearshck.gif Notice the grease nipples for lubing the bearings part no. 49001-1051. Now tell me if you've seen an L with grease nipples.

There are several items on the L fiches which don't apply to all (any?) models, so if this head issue is another one it wouldn't surprise me.
