Fixed!!!!!! Yes! Purring like a kitten now ... Turns out the cam chain tensioner extension rod was 180 degrees the wrong way round :/ so wasn't pushing up enough...
When you look at it, there is one pretty obvious way of putting it, but that's the wrong way, turn it 180 degrees and it looks less stable but that's actually the right way to go... Oh well got there in the end thanks for all your ideas anyway guys
Ive phoned cradleys before, if you ask for l1 or l2 you tend to get the old one, later than that and you get the newer one. Only thing with the old one i remember is the little grub screw that goes in place once you've removed the wire. If you dont have this screw ( that has a tiny o ring on it ) then oil comes out of this little hole, so i'm led to believe.
To fix that screw problem, I had a allen bolt with a flanged base, a bit like the fairing bolts, put some thread lock on and a washer with some silicone on, should do the job... well it worked for me...
