Spark plugs and oil

Post by ZXR King »

Hi everyone,

Ive decided that im going to give my bike a general service, changing the all of the usual maintenance parts in the hope that it might start running a bit better!!! I was just wondering what peoples opinions are on what are the best spark plugs and oil to use and if there are any other parts that I should consider changing as well? I'm just using the bike on the road and not racing as it's restricted to 33bhp but ill probly take the restrictors out soon and I still want to get good performance out of it! Also, just a quick check - are the 33bhp restrictors placed between each carb and the inlet manifold? So I can just take off each carb assembly and take out the restrictor washer, then bolt the carbs back on? + how can I fit mini indicators? Im sick of those huge things!!! Thanks very much, and sorry for all the questions!!!

i've always used NGK plugs, splitfires are good too, see this thread for oil http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... =synthetic
see this thread for restrictors http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... estrictors

as for the indicators motrax do a little blanking plug for the fairing so you can fit aftermarket indicators.

Thanks very much for the help!!!! I was just wondering how those indy spacers fit onto the fairing and do the general kawasaki ones fit as the zxr isn't listed? Do they need to be glued? And also am I going to need a new flasher relay or new indicator leads with the zxr as motrax just say that some bikes will need them and I was wondering what your experiences have been with them? Looks expensive if it does need all the extra bits! Thanks very much,

ive got a set of splitfires ready to go onto my zxr when a egt a bit more time, they are suppose to be good tho

ive also got a set of oval carbon indicators on , and some indy spacers too mate and they work nicely. you do have to glue them onto to your fairing like (a used no more nails, someone on the forum told me to use this and thanks for that !) and give them a good day and night to stick. they dont fit perfectly but not far of it tho...

i also had a problem with my old indicators stayin on too, but wehn i fit my new ones, it seemed to have sorted it out

i used some of them indy spacers fitting some small indicators on me r1. they just clamp the fairing between the 2 peices of spacers on that, dead easy. no glue needed...Dunno what the road fairing is like on the zxr tho, so maybee glue is needed.
