Post by extonyg »

Hello im new to the forum i have a zxr 400 L1 uk spec 1991.
when im riding the temp guage doesnt seem to move but when its just sat idling away it rises nicely and sits half way just where it should and the fan cuts in when it needs to but as soon as i start riding the temp guage drops right down again.atleast its not going into the red i no but i just thought it was a bit strange.is this common?possible thermostat or water pump maybe?any help would be great thanks

haha no worries mate. I had some overheating problems with my zxr when i was sat in traffic and riding round slowly. After hours of taking bits apart and fiddling round.. turned out the fan wasnt working because the previous owner had left it disconnected lolllll :smt005 but yeh u got nothin to worry about. your radiator's spposed to make the guage go down! haha
