but why?
reason i'm harassing youz is coz my fan is not coming on at the mo, so i just maintain fair speed through traffic... has not overheated *yet*
want to fix it so that the thermostat switches it on when it needs to go on...
but its at the bottom of my to do list...

mmmmm i might consider a toggleswitch myself... read somewhere that power to the rad fan does not go thru ignition, simply batt, thermostat, fan... i think... will hav a look at manuals...
i also want to fit red neon lights(the type used in computers) under tailpiece, will need toggleswitch for that aswell.

i'm pretty sure you just take off the 2 wires from the fan sensor and put a switch between them, just a basic on/off switch, the last thing you want to do is have the fan running permanantly cos it will burn the fan motor out, i did this on a high performance car i had cos it kept overheating and it melted the fan, jammed up and burnt the motor out.

is fairly easy to do with a few bits of wire and a switch, but you need to make sure you have a working fan first. Mine for instance doesnt actually work. Also bear in mind that kwaks are buggers for overheating so if your finding yourself crawling around in heavy traffic on hot days quite often the fan probably wont cut it, if i'm stuck in traffic i tend to settle for turning the engine off and pushing the bike along with one foot

Try driving round scarborough town sometime, people either block you from filtering or there isnt enough room on the roads to do it. The parking round here sucks so most of the two way road have cars parked all the way down one side so barely get two lanes of traffic through. Sunny weekends here mean we get a massive amount of stupid holiday makers taking up the whole road with their caravan and 4x4 and drive at about 5 mph looking at "the sea" and not the road
I know it's strange to hear bike and stuck in traffic in the same sentence
