backfiring!!!

Post by zxrtbone »

hey dudes,my bike seems to have lost some of its performance lately and the last couple of times i've started it it backfired, well i think it backfired there was a loud pop!!! i've had the air box off the other day when i was checking the HT leads but i've had the airbox off plenty of times and there's never been a problem after i'd refitted it,any ideas? :smt017

had a look at the HT leads and the far left one is a bit loose where it screws into the top of the plug cap, i'd say i need a new set of leads, also i noticed that the far left and far right spark plug caps do not push down as far as the middle two,i've tried to push them down but they wont budge, new plugs and leads then?

Just replaced the leads on my 94 bike. Mainly becuase I prefer the flexibilty of silicone rubber to the old pvc ones, glad I did it though becuase I hae never seen such a many set of ends on HT leads. You can get HT cable cheapy so I would do that first, The coils do fit though
