carb jetting
Hi looking at the spare set of carbs that came with my track bike and it looks a strange set up my bike is standard apart form a beowulf end can and no air filter but looking at the carbs the main jet is a 92 and the needles are on the top notch with two m3 washers On top?? Is this right if not has anybody got any ideas for a base setting I can start with

I'm guessing you are using dynojet needles, you normally put the washers on top to, according to dynojet, to stop them getting lost, their is a miniscule advantage that it tensions the spring slightly more, my bike as standard had 90 mains in so someone may have gone up a size (khein or DJ jets?) and the needles have been put to their richest setting, what have your current carbs got in and is it running nicely?

To the best of my knowledge the carbs that are on now are fully standard and it runs ok as far as I can tell but ive only managed to go up and down the street so far due to a winter strip and a few mods to be done. How can you tell the difference with the main jets they just say 92 on the top? The previous owner said the bike ran rough with this set so swapped them for a standard set so im hoping to sort them out as they have the dyno jet kit on them (or so it look from the needles)

the shape is different, think the dynojets have DJ stamped on them. Standard can be different though, they can have variations on standard, 92 is standard as are 95's best bet if your worried is to fit the DJ needles with DJ 92 or 96's as thats what the stage kit is, with the needles set on the 3rd clip down I believe, I'll dig out the dynojet instructions for you and take a picture

Don't know if its any use to you anymore but I found the instructions, hopefully some people will find them useful

hopefully these will help some people. asked dynojet what the washers are for, the gaps between the grooves is 1mm, the washers are 0.5mm so that you can fine tune your bike even further, they say to put them on top of the E-clip so that they dont get lost

Opps already lost two when cleaning the carbs at work lucky that m3 washers are the same size lol

Sort of, you may find the centre hole is the right size but the external size is too large, I lost a couple and cut them down with a dremel
