I'm going to buy a late model L9 and turn it into my own sort of SP, but plan on testing everything individually on the L3. Anyone know the sort of power an L9 can make with flatsides, dual velocity stacks, beet system, ramair box, rejetted carbs? And how reliable, for the road, would that engine be? I'll also be fitting zx6r wheels on and reworking the front subframe ;)

Mine makes 72-74 depending on the dyno. Last build went more than two years of racing and multiple track days before it spun a bearing.

Ditto. Dyno's offer little relative accuracy, only dynoing the same bike or comparitive bikes on the same dyno is worth it. Mine made about 72-73bhp with flatslides, ram air, beet and a substantial amount of engine work obviously. Ive chosen to run to standard rev limit for longevity and fingers crossed, its good so far.

I know beet do a full system, as do Quill exhausts and scorpions do cans for the L3, but does anyone know if any of the other big players (akrapovic, micron, devil, viper etc.) do full systems for our little 400's?

"good" is a matter of opinion...its a 90's bike...styling is purely up to you, but its a nice bike, dont make it look like some wannabe-toad-looking-need-for-speed-ricer-pile-of-crap...
