carb problems
I've just got another zxr400 and it has a couple of problems. It is a jap import but apparently it has uk/euro jets in the carbs. Will this make a difference? He said it only goes to about 10k rpm so I'm guessing that's the cdi. But will I need to change the jets? They're standard not upgraded. Anyone help me?!

Re: carb problems
If it only goes up to 10K then the speed restriction cable has been unplugged from the clocks or is broken somewhere on it's way to the CDI - Pink wire. Once plugged back in the bike will rev to the limiter well into the Red line. You will however be restricted to 180KPH but thats what your restricted to now as 6th gear at 10K is 180KPH
Jetting shouldn't be a concern, remember elevation and longitude/latidude changes fueling , UK needs to be a bit richer, it's bloody cold up North
So jetting will just stop it from being too lean.
MM!

Re: carb problems
If it's an L model then Yes but a KMH to MPH convertor would be a lot cheaper
