Quick help for takin the fuel tank off...

Post by bsrhkr »

hi guys! im in the proccess of takin the fuel tank off to check for an air leak on the carbs from the inlet rubbers, i got all the botls out, now i need to take the tank off or just twist it around so it can sit on the seat. theres a pipeline coming from the fuel switch to the fuel pump and its too short to be twisted around. im i sposed to take it off or what? and any think else needs to be done or taken off while im at it ?? :smt017 btw i switched the fuel tap on OFF.
any info will be great. thanks :smt001

have a look on the main site www.zxrworld.co.uk under workshop, at the balancing carbs feature RobB done, it will show you how to do it.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

All I can offer is that you visually check the rubbers for cracks/damage and the sealing o rings for damage even replace them regardless

Also a little sealer may well help when replacing them.

it's a bit tricky getting a good look at them when the bike is running.

Oh and the older type carb rubbers with the ally ring are pants..............throw em away and replace
