Shed / Garage

Post by wonderpupp »

Does anyone know a really good freestanding shed or shelter for bikes to sit in, just to get them out of the elements?

I've seen these metal ones - I don't mind putting it together.

I wouldnt go for a metal shed, they get damp as anything and fill right up with moisture. Id go for a wooden shed myself.

Or buy some bricks and build one.

My problem with that bike cover thingy is that it just advertises the fact you have a bike................... a plain wooden shed doesn't

Better still a proper built workshop/garage is best......................I know two good builders thats how I did mine

Build one, bricks dont cost that much (not sure about now) and you can always extend that if you need to. Might add value to your property too?

blockwork is cheapish, and easy enough to do mate. the costs are in the groundwork normally!
3k if you have a go yourself, for a single skin double garage with flat roof, aslong as your not on dodgy ground

Ah, you see, I am renting, and although we don't plan on moving anywhere else, I'm not allowed to stick up a brick garage in the front driveway, even though there are layouts where there used to be one. Or two, Or three, over the years.

I'm looking for something that I can stash my ZXR400 in and finish it off really, as it's still in my Ex's garage. In bits. If it can fit my 2 other bikes in to park, that's a bonus. I really want shelter for tinkering space.

And if it costs more than £300odd, I think that buying a dog will have to wait.

what about one of them old concrete sectional garages? could you put one of them on a previous garage site?
you can normally get them free or near enough if you go and dismatle and collect. I think they may be classed as temporary like a shed, so no building regs etc..
