carb balancing help

ive just balanced the carbs on my zxr and all looks good the gauges all line up nicely but for some reson they came to rest in the red area witch says " late valve timing or leak at intake manafold or heat riser" do i need to tune them out of that area ? if i alter them to much it starts to tick over at 5000 rpm and all the gauges go nutts any help would be great iam waiting to put the bike back together
