Correct me if I'm wrong...

Post by Vard66 »

The L model never had a remote oil reservoir, correct?

I flyered a ZXR 400 in Weston-S-Mare earlier, I suspect it was an H model with L fairings fitted, mostly because of this reservoir. Didn't think to carry a pen to write my forum name on the flyer though... D'oh.

correct, but that doesnt stop people fitting after market shocks, or indeed H shocks.

No, true.
Riddle me this.
Does the H have slightly further recessed clocks?
That's not very clear. By that I mean are the clocks on the H model sunk back about two or three centimeters further behind the fairing, towards the nose of the bike.

possibly ..

and they are laid out differently, and the speedo needle rests horizontally rather than vertically .. but again, they can be changed.

and the tanks are different..

and the frames ..

and the forks .. and ..

well, most everything :)

Swingarm has a brace on the h1(?) as well. Should be fairly easy to tell the diffrence, on glance at the frame is the quickest

I don't think I remember there being a brace on the swingarm, and the tank, forks and frame looked pretty L to me, in my less than infinite wisdom, so I guess the most likely atm is either an H shock or an SP.

I don't know, I just ran across it at Weston bike meet.
Saw him ride by, but by the time I got down the end of the south seafront to say hi, he'd vanished, so I flyered it.
