R.I.P craig jones

Post by nigbuzz »

Very sad news this morning from what was a brilliant wknds racing. heres a report from the Sbk website. my thoughts are with the family and friends.
:-

We are sad to inform that, as a result of a serious head injury sustained in an accident during yesterday's FIM Supersport World Championship race at Brands Hatch, Craig Jones, aged twenty three from Northwich, Cheshire died today at 1.30 am in the Royal London Hospital. It appeared that Craig lost control and fell from his Team Parkalgar CBR600 Honda at Clark Curve and was immediately and unavoidably struck by a following rider.

Immediate expert medical attention was provided and Craig was then flown by the Kent Air Ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where further assessment and treatment continued. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

It looks like a strange crash to me... he lowsides it and apparently gets struck from the bike following, but it looks like the tiniest of knocks from the angle I've see. Terrifying watching him lay in the middle of the track with the rest of the field rocketing past, though. :smt009

jesus!!! it didnt look like much but that clock to the head had some welly behind it.. i bet the guy who hit him is well gutted but there werent no way of avoiding that.

its always the accidents that dont look so bad that are the worst i think.

i feel for his family, but at least it was doin something he loved.
