The only ones i laugh at are bikers at the cafe talking about how fast they ride yet a quick glance at their rear tyre tells you they only do straight lines.

The trouble with having an open mind, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

LOL i wrote a little something about chicken-strips in my blog today!

Meh, it's bike related so I'll put it up on here!

I think too many people are toad-scared of new tyres, and because of this they make things a whole lot worse by being tense and panicy!

When you think about it, someone will shove on a set of brand new tyres at a racetrack, and go straight out the pits and be knee-down on the first corner - remember you don't have to be going fast to go knee-down!

The best way is to get heat into the tyres first. Maybe even do a few motorway junctions if you're really paranoid?

Then just be smooth and gentle with the bike, easing it into the corners and not throwing it in and being snatchy.

If it's wet - ride like you've got stabilisers on until it's dry, though! :smt009
Who needs tyres when you've got knees!!

Oh!!! And it's pretty damn important to also remember that YOU WILL NOT GET SOME TYRES TO THE EDGE!

I've had tyres on bikes before (like the Tomahawks on my ZXR) where I've been scraping my knee and toes without even holding my knee out at all, and the tyres still had 5-10mm left on the edge!!!

So take it easy and don't be worrying about that stuff for a good while yet!
