Seat cowl

Post by Top-shaggy »

I have a L9 in green white and have been looking at seat cowls etc.
Power bronze do one in ABS for the L9 in three colours to suit 1999 model .. Black, green and white.

Ok maybe i shoudnt bother.. but here goes anyway:
Would mine look better with a white or green cowl ?

Thought white until I contemplated looking at the bike..
Thanks

I voted white as it works with the paint scheme.. but didn't see the third option (was it always there ?) which is actually more in line with my views..

cowls never look like a real single seat.. just get a grp race seat if you want to lose the pillion pad.

Thanks Zimm.. And I know what you mean with the cowls not looking like the genuine single seat unit.
My problem is the wifey likes the ZXR and also wants to use it (not just as a pillion ..) she thinks it looks better without a rear seat cowl (which is one of the reasons I added the third option .. Snigger). I quite like the idea of adding one that can be removed / fitted at a whim whenever we want. Mindful that I'm also an idle bugger :o)

honestly, your bike looks very nice and clean and original, for those reasons i'd not add a chavvy seat cowl..

similarly stay away from anodised bolts/coloured double bubble screen/tacky indicators.. its not actually 1994 anymore, they arent "trick" they just look cheap and detract from the overall aesthetic of the bike

just my opinion of course :smt001

Omg .. I'm still stuck in 1989, let alone the 90s :excited

Thanks for the kind words over the bike though, it is extremely low mileage and in great nick
And.. I Know what you mean .. (if I buy one I promise to keep the pictures to myself ok)
:o)

1989 wasnt a good year for me.. got shoved in a school locker live on breakfast TV :pmsl

just realised im being an utter hypocrite .. my bike is covered in carbon, ti, cnc'd bits of bling and aftermarket paint .. actually, in total i've 5 bikes, 3 cars, a camper van and a mountain bike.. none of them are anywhere near stock, (wheres the face-palm smilie ?)

in my defence, none of them were clean/functional/original when acquired.
