i may be a bit thick here but what advantage do these have over standard/ 6 pots/ zx6r radial calipers?
anything is possible with enough time and money. and an open mind...

none, they used the same calipers as the non SP models. Just they probably came off an SP and hes trying to attach some prestige to them when in reality theres no difference.

Still, seemed like not a bad price for a set of pretty fresh calipers anyway so I took a punt. Thanks for pointing them out.

The brakes were the one thing that really suffered when my bike was off the road. Locked so hard that even a greasegun wasn't shifting them, was looking at destroying the pistons to get them out but the price of parts including pistons was adding up to silly money.
Didn't do the disks any favours either but they were already old, rust pitted and badly worn when they went in the barn.
New disks and fresh calipers. This should be nice. smiler

Should mention that the seller has the engine listed as well. 10k miles SP for £400 - kind of wish I could afford to pick it up myself and stick it away for the future.

Yeah, I know.
Went for them because the assembly bolts are still shiny(and they tend to rust quickly), not because I fell for sales patter. Know fine well they're the same calipers on all models.
Thanks for .... well, whatever you were trying to say.
...and for pointing them out in the first place.

I dont know where you are based but this guy pulled the rear caliper and cush rubbers from the sale and sold them separately.

Might be worth giving him a shot.

Great heads-up but it's done now and the calipers are in the post. I've no regrets and am happy with the price.

I'm up in Scotland - good ZXR territory. See a fair few around.
