ZXR 400 L Model - UK

Post by MAR5H7 »

Ok so I know officially these are imported, so a UK model is impossible
however, I have an issue with the cooling system, I have a pipe sticking out from main hose from the rad (bottom hose, left side)
and Its just sitting there, Ok its not a problem while its sealed up but it has a nasty habit of liking the road and losening up and then spilling ALL my coolant on the road - you know what happens next

Iv looked on the ZXR supplement on this website and that shows it as UK spec on the exploded view
but I want to know where its true home is

If anyone knows, they would be a star as my ZXR is my life, only had it a short while but im lost when is in the garage :(

Many thanks

I suspect that little bit of pipe is/was the feed to or from the carb heating circuit.

Photos would be helpful

You can losen the hose clips either side of it and turn it so it doesn't stick out. Or just remove it all together and replace it with a bit of pipe

Having said that I dont really understand what you mean by "liking the road" nor do I understand what the relevance it has with whether your bike is a UK spec model or not ? Frankly your post is something of a ramble that makes little sense at all.

It does sound like the barb heater circuit. As cargo says, a pic would be nice.

Also, the ZXR was officially sold in the UK, just a load of imports made thier way in first.
