Oh but you would.
If you are serious, then do it for the love of it, but don't expect to get back what you spent.
+1 specially considering what a bare VW shell would cost you at today's prices.. having been in the classic car trade and done a couple of restorations i can tell you the only way to MAKE money out of doing up old vehicles, is to be the bloke being paid by the hour to do the work, not the owner.
ay up the only reason i would wana do it is to do ALL the work myself bar afew bits an pieces, i could do my own interior have a blast at the spray job that would be cool. there is a shell on flea bay at the moment for buy now £300 it has no engine but it does have a gear box an wheels attached lmao. thats what you want thoe, after i had built it i doubt i would sell on for some years if at all lol. there fine machines if you take care of em.
thats what i was originally looking for to be honest but they are too dear, maybe one day ill come accross one in someones back yard in tatters.
but at the mo im too busy (unless a split screen)

hmmmm most sport bikes will beat near enough every car. A. how much does it cost to get a car as quick as a big bike?. racing a modified car against a standard bike is unfair. as the bikes not modded. Ferraris etc and supercars hardly race you. put a ZX10 against the whole supercar group and only the veyron would probably beat it. i prefer bikes to cars you just dont get the sense of feeling you get when your in a car, that you get on a bike

The Ultima GTR has recently broken it's own record for 0-100-0, so I'm pretty sure it's that kind of performance that would beat bikes on the road (and the Veyron). You can pick one up for £30,000 if you're lucky.
And the SSC Ultimate is still much faster than a Veyron, anyway.

thats not all true, anyway a fully done up supra against a fully done up zx10 then i still know the car would win. its just that simple more hourses for courses.
but yep i enjoy the bike more althoe i cant say i would enjoy the bike more than say blasting round in a veyron cos iv not driven one lol. never say never.

god not the supra thing again, how much would a fully done up supra cost im comparison against the bike? a huge amount more! and fyi look up the bike called Y2k that would give any supercar a run for its money

LOL yea and how many times do you see a fkin jet powered car fly by you. the supra is just the car that pops to my head its not overly expensive but will mince most things. and this y2k bike if you race that against its 4 wheeled counterpart, OH its THE LAND SPEED RECORD HOLDER lol. anyway enough said i think if you dont get it now you never will
