I'm having thoughts about selling my 400 to get a 918 fireblade (favourite bike from childhood and have chance to get one now) and wondered if you guys could give me a rough idea as to what my l3's worth.

1993 UK L3 ZXR400 Showing 37K
12 Months MOT & TAX (will be done as soon as weather picks up)
New Pair Of Tyres (Not currently on but will be done so i can get a new mot on it, Likely Either Conti's Or Pirelli's)
Nissin Front Calipers With Braided Lines
Some Sort Of Aftermarket Downpipes And Scorpion End Can
Kent Racing Cams
Dynojet Kit
K&N Filter
CBR Stick Coils Fitted
Had New Headgasket/Cam Chain/Cam Chain Guides/Valve Clearances/Clutch Plates/DID Chain&Sprockets Fitted Last September Probably Not Even Seen A
New Throttle And Clutch Cables Fitted
1000 Miles Yet
Masses Of Service History Alot From Kwak Main Dealers
Resprayed A Couple Of Years Ago, Body Work Is In Good Condition Except for the 2 bits shown in pictures, Right Side I Dropped It Picking It Up To Move It One Day Tipped It To Far Away From Me And It Went Down Leaving Some Scratches In Fairing, Left Side Garage Door Blew Against Fairing Edge Damaging It, Mirrors Will Be Replaced With A New Set I've Got But Not Fitted
Will Have Oil And Filter Changed Before Being Put Back On The Road Again Currently Laid Up For Winter
And Lastly It Will Be Dyno'd Once The Weather Picks Up As I Think It's Running Slightly Rich, If It Is This Will Be Rectified





So how much do you guys think it would be worth and would you actually consider selling it to replace with a fireblade?

Oh dear, these threads never end well People always get slightly pissed off when the answer is worse than they expected.

So here goes......

IMO £1200 on a good day.

not this one no need to worry, i know ive pretty much spent at least half of what it's worth stripping it down for the engine rebuild last year, i'm also very aware from years of blowing money on performance cars that you never get your money back but it's always useful to have an idea of what it's worth, at around a grand i may let it go even though ill again have blown almost half that getting new tyres and it dyno'd.

if i kept it it would end up getting stripped down and resprayed i like to keep my toys in tip top condition, issue there is if the blade is everything i dreamt of as a kid the zxr will pretty much become an ornament bit like my mr2 already is, i have a winter hack 306 and a t bar mr2 which again has whatever money it needs thrown at it but on most nice days i bugger off on the bike so it sees little use apart from nice days where a bike isn't practical. my zxr's a nice example of what it is and i still enjoy it but you know how it is you have these dreams as a kid then when you get to being able to do it you procrastinate about what you should do, biggest thing that casts doubt on the decision is i everyone i know has said they have regretted selling their zxr's for something else and i know to buy another one like mine and then get the extra bits again would cost a stupid amount

I remember one guy one here getting very stroppy cos I told him his bike was worth exactly what any potential buyer was prepared to pay for it.
