err .. yeh.. you arent insured to do it.

like if you tell em you wont use it for commuting then have a crash on the way to work and forget to tell them you were visiting a mate ..

plus, if your passenger gets hurt in an accident and its your fault, they cant claim compensation for injury, that then falls on you to cough up.

I checked when I was signing up for insurance and it made no difference to the online quote whether I selected the pillion option or not. Needless to say I selected it anyway :)

I always used to think it would cost more if you had pillion cover, but speaking to a friend who used to be a manager at Roadsure, he said it actually costs LESS if you're taking pillions - the reasoning being that if you've got someone on the back you're more likely to be riding cautiously.

Not sure if it still makes a difference to policies now, but you can argue it the other way because the pillion would be claiming off you.

I scraped the pegs on my 9R on Saturday with a pillion for the first time. :smt003

smooth gearchanges, no late braking, and tell 'em to brace against the tank instead of crushing you.

pegs down with a pillion is easy (if they know what they're doing and dont wiggle about too much) as the suspension is compressed more.

rider AND pillion knee-down .. now that'd be cool.

Don't take a Nut-Nut of a woman who keeps trying to make you scrape your footpegs on a 9r!
