mega server upgrade

i am looking into upgrading the server that the whole zxrworld website is hosted on, now is a good time to express your opinions on the site and if there is something missing that you want to see or anything you feel could be improved then lets hear it.

I dont know why, but whenever i click a link from the site, it opens in the same window. Where as on most sites it opens a new window. It so annoying when you close it to find you've lost the site as well.

I like the PM system, the way it pops up is good.


Also, features on other sites which I like - when you hover over a thread title and up pops the first few sentances. I think a more modern logo would give the site a face lift.

links opening in new windows has always been on the list of things to do but as the phpbb3 which this forum is based on is still pretty new no-one has released an official mod for it yet.

as for the first few sentences showing yes i'll consider that.

i have posted a couple of times for people to design a logo which never got any responses.

instead of changing the host cant you just change to vBulletin? or does it not work like that?

i need to upgrade the hosting package to run Vbulletin which is one of the reasons that i'm looking at upgrading as the mysql version we are hosted on is out of date and vbulletin wont run on it and the current hosts wont upgrade the mysql i have to upgrade the whole package.
