In need of some serious help

Post by TheG »

Had a disaster this morning, the rear brake bleed nipple wouldnt tighten whilst bleeding the brake with a bleeding kit so i tried tightening it a bit more and the whole thing has snapped off including the metal and the threads.

Iv looked on ebay theres nothing but a old caliper thats covered in rust and stripped paint. and a new caliper is £375 and iv been told they have to be ordered from japan and take 3-5weeks

I have looked at fitting a gsxr caliper but i dont know what im doing removing metal to get it to fit

feel sick right now maybe i should just leave my bike alone

if you have a dremell-type tool, its 10 minutes to remove the metal from the caliper bracket so a GSXR 1000 K1/K2 rear caliper will fit.

we all make mistakes, and have them "arge fucking pile of crap, why am i doing this!!!" moments...ive had so many my wife knows to just ignore me to it :D

my last was thinking i had dropped a valve shim into one of the oil drains from the head into the bottom of the engine somewhere, and because they can get slightly magnetized it would have been an engine out, full stripdown job...and i think that would have finished me off :D

i found it in the end, in a drop of oil next to #1 cylinder ex cam...but im sure it gave me at least 1 heart attack :D
