Good for......

Post by CaNsA »

135mph on the motorway before i had to roll off / the fear kicked in.

Had new shoes fitted on saturday, Dunny Roadsmarts.
Fitted the replacement shock pulled from a ZX6r F1 today.

What a difference that has made.
A nicely balance set of wheels and a nicely setup shock :D

Had a bash @ getting the baffle out the collector box / link pipe on the micron pipes, it didnt go so well.
Swiss, my mate, managed to the get the top collar which holds the baffle out, we then cut the pipe at the weld to have a go at the other end.
Was not budging in the slightest, need to have a little think about this one, possibly a dremel with some super tough discs?

Either way, we put everything back together and off i went.
Had a "race" with a scooby, he was quicker off the mark than me but then I left him wondering if he was still on the same bit of road as me.
Power : weight is what counts. Not CC.

Time for a sausage butty.

are you saying that there are baffles in the collector box and link pipe? or is this just something that is in your micron pipes? im getting a set from sandy bike spares as my originals have turned into swiss-cheese, i just thought that the pipework up to the exhaust can was all free-flowing pipe, i.e. nothing like baffles in there?

ok, ill ask sandybikespares when i ring them tomorrow. im just looking forward to getting rid of the old pipes, ill put up a pic, they are really bad. plus the sandybikespares link pipe is mandrel bent stainless, unlike the original with the horrible weld seam going down the length of the link pipe.

i wouldnt touch sandy bike spares

put some stainless downpipes of theirs on my last zx7r, despite them claiming they are direct replacements they arent, it ran like a pig and lost all low down grunt.

also noticed that a few days after i paid £200 they were selling same for £150

fuckin crooks
